Due to rampaging incompetence and a general inability to read a calendar, the following situation has arisen concerning grades. If you hand in a project by Monday morning, April 28, you will have a grade assigned on time, recorder with the Registrar, and reported here. No problem.
However, if you are doing an ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
PROJECT and hand it in after April 28 and by my deadline of May 8,
your grade will not be assigned and recorded until Monday May 12.
(Remember, I will be out of town from April 28 till May 9.) Alas,
Final Grades are due on May 7. This means I will have to temporarily give
you an I (Incomplete) in the course. This should not be a problem unless
you need this class for graduation or some such. If that is the case,
please contact me immediately, <starman@iupui.edu>.
Roughly, there are three options:
(1): Do an alternate project and hand it in by Monday morning, April 28.
(2): If you have a partially completed astrophotography project, you can
complete it by doing a portion of another project. e.g If your AP
project is 1/3 done, then do 2/3 of the Internet (or other) project and hand it
in by Monday morning, April 28.
(3): If you really want to do the astrophotography project, get an on time
grade, and will complete it later than April 28, we will have to make special
arrangements for someone else to grade the project and report your work to me.
Then I can assign a grade. Since grades are due May 7, I require a
deadline for submission of 3 PM, Friday afternoon, May 2. Remember,
this option is only if you are doing the AP project and MUST have a grade
recorded by May 7 for Graduation, Financial Aid, or some other truly urgent
reason.. You must contact me now, if you plan to use this last option.
It goes without saying, of course, if you have any unreturned equipment at the end of the semester, you will get an Incomplete until that matter is resolved.
Sorry for the Calendar problems. It is all the fault of Precession.
